Event Overview
Minehead Victorian Christmas returns on Friday 29th November 2024, transforming the town centre into a festive wonderland from 16:30 to 21:00. Preparations and event activities may cause some local disruptions, but we have worked hard to try minimise inconvenience for residents and visitors.

Road Closures

Affected Areas
The Parade (from Wellington Square/Floyds Corner Junction) to The bottom part of The Avenue (at Glenmore Road Junction) will be closed from 13:30 to 23:59 on the day of the event. 
Important Access Notes
● There will be no access to The Parade or Avenue from any side streets● Holloway Street remains open for access only● Restricted vehicular access to Market House Lane with no access back onto The Parade. 
Diversion Routes
West Bound:
● Glenmore Road● Ponsford Road● Townsend Road● Friday Street
East Bound:
● Friday Street● Townsend Road● Alcombe Road● Bircham Road● Seward Way● Warren Road

Transportation Modifications

We have collaborated closely with local bus operators to minimise service interruptions during the Minehead Victorian Christmas event. However, bus routes will experience changes while road closures are in effect from 13:30 to 23:59 on 29th November 2024.
If you plan to travel by bus to or from Minehead during these hours, carefully review the route modifications outlined in this guide. As event logistics can evolve, we recommend confirming the most current information before your journey. Bus Route Changes

Route 10 (Minehead - Porlock; Atwest/Riddlers)
Outbound Stops Affected: The Avenue Nearest Alternative Stop: Minehead Railway Station or Roman Catholic Church, Townsend Road. 
Inbound Stops Affected: The Parade & The AvenueNearest Alternative Stop: Roman Catholic Church, Townsend Road. 
Route 198 (Minehead - Dulverton; AtWest)
Stops Affected: The Parade & Bancks Street Alternative Stops: Minehead Railway Station or Roman Catholic Church, Townsend Road. 
Route 15 (Bridgwater College - Minehead; Buses of Somerset)
Affected Time: 18:17 (Inbound at Minehead Parade)Alternative Route: To be confirmed. Buses of Somerset have assured drivers will be able to minimise disruption
Routes 28/28A (Minehead - Taunton; Buses of Somerset)

Outbound

SPS Services (Hinkley/Bridgwater Service)
All community bus services will not be able to serve the following bus stops to and from Minehead ● Bancks Street● Catholic Church● Townsend Road● Minehead Middle School
However, Minehead Railway station bus stop will be served on services in both directions.

Parking

Restrictions
● Town Centre parking restrictions in place throughout the day● Complete parking prohibition from 13:30-23:59 in road closure area● Traffic enforcement team will be patrolling the area
Free Parking Areas
Users are encouraged to use free complimentary all day parking financed by Minehead Town Council at:● Station Car Park● Summerland Road Car Park● North Road Car Park ● Clanville Car Park
Note: Free parking applies only on Friday 29th November at specified car parks
